گزارش کار آزمایشگاه مبانی الکترونیک، مقاومت الکتریکی یا امپدانس بیانگر مقاومت یک جسم فیزیکی در برابر عبور جریان الکتریکی از آن است. واحد بین المللی (SI) مقاومت الکتریکی، اهم (به انگلیسی: ohm) است. مقدار معکوس این کمیت رسانایی الکتریکی یا ادمیتانس نام دارد که با زیمنس (به انگلیسی: Siemens) اندازه گیری میشود.مقاومت الکتریکی یک شی، جریان آن را تحت اختلاف پتانسیل مشخصی بین دو سر آن شی، به دست میدهد. از روی رنگهای یک مقاومت میتوان مقاومت الکتریکی آنرا را بدست آورد. هر رنگ دارای یک کد استاندارد و بین المللی است که با توجه به تعداد لایههای مقامت مفهموی را میرساند .در اینجا به بیان کدرنگ مقاومت چهار لایه میپردازیم. برای بدست آوردن مقامت الکتریکی یک مقاومت چهار لایه ابتدا :کد لایه اول ولایه دوم (از سمت چپ) را مستقیماَ نوشته و کد لایه سوم را در توان عدد ۱۰ قرار میدهیم ، ومقدار بدست آمده مقاومت را در بازه کد لایه چهارم که بیانگر تحمل خطای مقاومت نامید میشود ، قرار میدهیم.
